Hi Everyone!
Welcome to the message board! We'll be posting plans and updating information here. If you have any questions, please start a new thread so that others can see if a topic is the same question they have!
We'll also start topics to plan for different activities for the week.
Please say hello and tell us anything you want about yourselves. Real names are not necessary and neither are pictures but feel free to use either if you like. Tell us what dates you are going to be at Hedo and the rest is up to you what you wish to include.
So I'll start off! I'm Mary Ellyn. I'm 53 and for those of you who don't know it my primary job is teaching pole dancing and running pole dance events and working as a competition judge.
Jim and I have been married for almost 14 years now. We have two sons from my previous marriage who are 22 and 25.
Jim is an accountant so he is generally swamped and often can't check in on the message board at this time of the year since he also does taxes!
We arrive at Hedo on Friday the 18th and will be leaving on Saturday the 26th. As I said in the email this will be our 22nd trip to Hedonism.

Hi Niki and Stone! Welcome to the group!
Is this your first trip to Hedo or have you been there before?

Been there multiple times but not since the new ownership. Anything change? Are you Couples Touch by any chance?

We are Joe & Cheryl (aka Maximalfun). This is our third trip with PoleDancerTravel for Spring Break, and our 11th or 12th trip to Jamaica. I think this is our sixth or seventh time to Hedo II. We're in our mid-50's and are generally pretty easy going (low key). We don't get into a lot of the theme nights, but we will be dressing up for Pirate nights. Looking forward seeing some folks again as well as meeting some new ones.
We arrive on the 17th and depart on the 26th.
Take care, and see you soon.

Joe and Cheryl you'll have to get things started for us. We should be there by early to mid afternoon if our plane lands on time. We are supposed to fly into MBJ at 11:35am.
Niki and Stone...no we aren't Couples Touch. We were last there in November. The new rooms are very nice of course but we never book them as we don't spend enough time in the room to warrant the added cost. The dining room has new bright colored cushions on all the chairs. The Piano bar has been painted and given a face lift. The gift shop is expanded and includes much nicer items. There are all new lounge chairs at the pools and on the beaches.
No more cards for beach towels...they are left in the rooms though they had not gotten new towels as of November but were suppose to be getting them soon.
More ECs and better shows with a budget for costumes and stage props. All the ECs seem happier too.
New mattresses and flat screen tvs in all rooms plus a fridge in all rooms.
The old wooden platform covering the old broken glass bottom hot tub that use to be on top of the disco is finally covered, bricked over and nice. We were told they were going to add more tables and chairs up on top of the disco as many people like to hang out there in the evenings after dinner.
We see changes every time we are there so I'm certain there will be a lot more when we return in April. They are suppose to be updating the disco and the fitness center but not certain if/when that will be done.

Mary Ellyn,
Thanks for the update. Sounds like some nice improvements being made. We watch the trip reports on Tripadvisor.com, and it seems like about 95% of the folks have positive things to say about the improvements. We understand they have a new chef, and the buffet food has been stepped up a notch, too. See everyone soon.

Yes they had a new chef in November but I'm not certain if that is the same new chef! Food was decent but we thought it was improved over previous trips when we were there last April and November did not seem much different from last April.

The resort was looking pretty shabby last time we were there so we started going to Desire. We are looking forward to seeing what they did with the rooms and public areas. It would be a tough job to upgrade the resort without destroying the vib. We are counting the days.

While there are a number of upgrades I think it's still a bit off from Desire...definitely from someplace like Hidden Beach. I think the biggest changes, in the rooms, doesn't really have any effect on the vibe of the resort and in fact for most isn't worth the added cost if you don't spend much time in your room.
There is talk about adding a "play room" attached to the disco and some sort of renovations to the disco but haven't heard anything set in stone yet.
The most important "upgrade" we've seen so far is staff morale and thus the atmosphere is greatly improved for everyone.

Welcome Steve and Suzi! Glad to have you joining us! Suzi you are going to LOVE Hedo! Think about how many people keep coming back...it's got to be great right? I think Hedonism must have one of the largest repeater populations over any resort!
